Using i-Base information

A guide

i-Base information is free

All publications are available free of charge – including bulk orders for the UK or single copies for other countries.

HIV-positive people…

Our guides to combination therapy contain the minimum necessary information for anyone starting or changing their treatment, and are updated at least once a year

They cover starting combination therapy for the first time, changing treatment, side effects and pregnancy and women's health.

They are largely written by by HIV-positive people who have direct experience of treatment and negotiating the healthcare system in the UK, and are based on the latest research and UK guidelines on HIV treatment.

Our information is evidence-based and practical

The i-Base team have been researching and distributing HIV clinical and basic science since 1996.

Doctors, nurses, pharmacists…

We aim to supply all our resources to all UK clinics free regardless of the volume required:

HIV Treament Bulletin (htb) includes original articles reporting new research presented at major scientific conferences like the annual International AIDS Society conferences (IAS) and the Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections (CROI) plus smaller, specialized workshops that focus on lipodystrophy, side effects and resistance.

The journal includes contributions from guest writers – physicians, investigators, activists – and selected articles from other community journals

We also report and comment on a wide range of studies including trials for new drugs, resistance, drug interactions and pharmokinetics.

The editorial advisory board includes:

Working with other people

We have, by invitation, helped a number of community groups outside the UK to produce local treatment information based on our guides, including organisations in South Africa, Namibia and Bulgaria.

Community organisations, activists and educators…

We are happy to supply our guides to combination therapy and other publications to all UK community organisations free for distribution directly to HIV-positive people.

This website contains a wide range of slide sets, presentations and downloadable training resources which you are free to adapt and use. Many of these are drawn from meetings of the UK CAB – a national network for treatment activists and educators.

We encourage you to reprint articles and individual pages of information and link to the i-Base website. If you wish to syndicate or translate large portions of our information, please get in touch first.
